Rural Vermont: on our way to restart the dairy processing classes

from Rural Vermont

Greetings and happy Spring!  The pace here in Montpelier is starting to pick up and I am happy to report that we are making headway on bringing back our dairy processing classes.    Although the legislative changes will not be perfect, we are confident that in the coming weeks we will see the legislature pass language that will allow Rural Vermont (and others) to restart the dairy processing classes that are such an important part of growing a sustainable agricultural system in Vermont.  In addition, we are hard  at work on legislation that will encourage state entities to “buy local” as well as legislation dealing with compost, current use and GE alfalfa.  As things move forward, we will be calling on you to help make sure these important bills become law.  Thanks for your support and, as always, feel free to contact us at anytime!
